Audio quality tips for noisy event venues
How to capture clean conversation audio even when the room is loud, the acoustics are bad and the music is on.
AI transcription is only as good as the audio it receives. A few small physical choices in the room dramatically improve what EchoSphere can hear - and what it can analyze afterwards.
Place the phone centre-table
Centred on a round table of six, every participant is roughly the same distance from the microphone. A phone at the edge picks up one loud voice and loses three quiet ones.
Use a small foam stand
Lifting the phone 3–5 cm off the table dampens table-thump and clinking glasses. A simple foam or rubber stand is enough.
Mute the background music between rounds
Keep music for transitions, not for discussion time. A 5 dB drop in background noise often doubles transcription accuracy in our experience.
Spread your tables out
If two tables are within two metres of each other, both phones pick up both conversations. Three metres of separation is a good minimum.
